Team members known as Vincentians visit homes of the less fortunate in our geographical area (Regina Mundi Parish community) and provide them with assistance like food vouchers to buy groceries and SVP coupons (for household items and some furniture). We also offer moral support to these families.
The President of the local Regina Mundi Council is Norma D’Errico. The Council meets every month to discuss and exchange notes and provide feedback to the team.
If assistance is needed, please call 289-877-8310.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is an international lay Catholic organization founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam, a 20 year old university student in Paris, France. He defended workers rights, advocated for the poor and challenged Catholics to put their faith into action.
Saint Vincent de Paul, chaplain to the poor and imprisoned, was named by Pope Leo XIII as the patron of charity. It was Saint Vincent who saw the connection between physical and spiritual poverty.
Today there are more than a million members in the Society serving the needs of the poor in over 147 countries.
