Confirmation

Confirmation
Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation,” whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (CCC 1285)

Preparation

Candidates: This is celebrated typically with students in Grade 7 or older

  • Candidates in our Parish community schools will be given formation lessons as a part of their curriculum.
  • Candidates who have not been baptized in the Catholic Church are recommended to consider RCIC/RCIA.

Parents & Guardians: Families are encouraged to foster a relationship with God by attending Mass weekly and share in the many graces that our faith brings. Praying as a community during Sunday Eucharist and other Church celebrations give our youth a sense that they are part of a larger community.

Confirmation Preparation Meetings: These information meetings are for parents and guardians of the Confirmandi, and are held in the Church on a weekday evening. If you are unable to attend on the scheduled date, please contact your child’s teacher for the Confirmation registration forms.
