The Third Sunday of Advent, lighting the pink candle, we celebrate Gaudete Sunday. Jesus is the source of our joy. As St. Paul says in this Sunday's Second Reading, Rejoice in the Lord always: again I say, Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4-7).
We may not always experience happiness in our lives; instead, we might find ourselves grappling with feelings of anxiety, sadness, or even profound suffering. Nevertheless, we can still experience joy in Christ through the following ways:
Help others
Let your kindness be shown to all and pray for others.
The Lord is near, especially for the poor and those who suffer.
Do noy worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6-9)
Cultivate a heart of gratitude!

We invite you to wrap your baby Jesus, opening him as your first gift on Christmas day as a reminder that Christ is the greatest gift!
Blessing for Nativity Scene Figurine of Jesus
God our Father, you loved us so much you sent us your only Son, Jesus,
born of the Virgin Mary, to save us and lead us back to you.
We pray that, with your blessing,
these images of Jesus might be a sign of your presence and love in our homes.
Good Father, give your blessing
to all who gather with us this Christmas,
and to our family and friends.
Open our hearts, that we might receive Jesus in joy,
and always do what he asks of us, and see him in those who need our love.
We ask you this in the name of Jesus, your beloved Son
who comes to give the world peace, and who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.
Pope Benedict XVI (2008)
