The Legion of Mary is a worldwide Catholic association whose members aim to increase their holiness through prayer and study of the faith, to serve Jesus in the community through the works of mercy.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit and commissioned by the Blessed Mother, the Legionaries embark on a Catholic life of prayer and faithful service.
“To Jesus through Mary”
Active members of our Regina Mundi Praesidium, “Our Lady, Queen of the World”, meet every Tuesday at 5:30 pm. In the meeting members recite the Legion prayers starting with the Rosary, following the handbook of the Legion of Mary written by the founder, Servant of God, Frank Duff. Planning and reporting of apostolic and evangelical works are also discussed. Apostolic works include visits to the homebound, rotation of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue to families or individuals as requested, visits to long term care residents, Eucharistic service, and other spiritual needs of the parish assigned by our spiritual director. These works are carried out by each member weekly in the spirit of faith and in union with Mary.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the Legion of Mary but is unable to attend the meetings or assume the duties of active membership are invited to become an auxiliary member. Auxiliary membership is open to anyone who is willing to offer the Legion prayers daily for Our Blessed Mother’s intentions.
Parishioners are welcome to join us in a meeting anytime, to experience this important and rewarding ministry, to see if Our Lady is calling you to join the Legion of Mary as either an active or auxiliary member.
